The McDonogh Squash program recently wrapped up a solid MIAA season, finishing with an 11-4 record.

I am thrilled that Nancy Wolf is receiving the Robert Everd Outstanding Achievement Award. No one has contributed more in terms of managing big squash events, like the US Nationals – singles and doubles, than Nancy.

Every year US Squash designates a week in September as a time to reach out to women squash players in every district. The initiative is to get women playing, introduce them to other players and let them know about squash opportunities in the area.

US Squash announced the Scholar-Athlete awards for 2018-19. Locally, Eva Finney St. Paul's and Brynn Cross Bryn Mawr were honored in the girls divisions. For the boys, Ned Gildea Gilman, Zain Khan and Joe Radek -- both of McDonogh and Alexis Ballo City high school were honored.

John's Hopkins men's club squash team won their opening matches of the season with a 9-0 win over Pittsburgh and 8-1 over Swarthmore at Meadoe Mill, with Pittsburgh winning 5-4 over Swarthmore in the final match of the round robin played at Meadow Mill October 26.

The William T. Ketcham Jr. Honorable Mention Award was given to players who had shown extraordinary commitment to the sport while significantly improving their game.

Five years after reaching the final of the 2013 World Doubles, Englishmen Jonny Smith & Clive Leach partnered up again to win the 2018 SDA Gold Baltimore Cup at the Baltimore Country Club.

Thirty five teams played in the 10th playing of the M4 (Maine Maryland at Meadow Mill) Doubles Tournament at Meadow Mill Sept 20-22.

A record fifty-seven Americans will represent Team USA and take on the world’s best juniors at the 2019 Dunlop British Junior Open, January 2-6, at Birmingham University and Edgbastion Priory Club in Birmingham, England.
